The Monarch has taped a first-hand account concerning his battle with cancer, set to air as part of this year's annual cancer awareness drive, organised by medical research organisations and a television broadcaster.
Buckingham Palace said the King would reflect on his "path to recovery" as a individual battling cancer, in a televised statement on Friday at the evening slot.
The recording, recorded at his London residence two weeks ago, will highlight the importance of cancer screening checks to ensure more people detect the illness at an early stage.
This will be a infrequent public commentary on the health of the King, who has been in a course of therapy since his condition was announced in early last year. However, it is believed doubtful the King will identify his specific form of cancer.
The awareness initiative each year generates donations for clinical trials and therapies and encourages people to get screenings to boost the chances of an early diagnosis.
The King's relative openness about his condition, and living with cancer, has been aimed to increase understanding and to get more people to get screened - and this will be taken a step further with this unusual direct participation.
So far the King's key philosophy to his cancer has been to continue his schedule, maintaining a hectic timetable alongside his regular rounds of treatment, and he is understood not to have wanted to be overshadowed by his diagnosis.
This year has seen the King, 77, embarking on several international tours, such as visits to Italy and Canada, and receiving the biggest number of foreign dignitaries to the UK for decades, including the German president recently.
The upcoming awareness programme on television, hosted by well-known figures including Davina McCall, Adam Hills and Clare Balding, will appeal to people not to be scared of getting health screenings.
All three have been personally touched by cancer - McCall disclosed last month she had undergone surgery for the disease, while another presenter was overcame the illness more than 15 years ago. Presenter Adam Hills has previously discussed his parent, who had one form of cancer and then later leukaemia.
The show will target the roughly millions of people in the UK who health organisations estimate are not current with public health checks, with an digital tool to let people determine if they are able for tests for breast, bowel and cervical cancer.
In an effort to explain screenings and illustrate the benefit of timely identification there will be a live broadcast from hospital departments at medical facilities in Cambridge.
"My aim is to take the fear from preventative tests and show all people that they are not on their own in this," said Davina McCall.
At present in the UK, there are a number of NHS cancer screening programmes - for bowel, breast and cervical cancer - available to eligible individuals.
A new lung cancer screening programme is also being phased in for people at increased risk of being diagnosed with the illness, focusing on people in a specific age bracket, who are smokers or have smoked in the past.
Male patients may request specific tests, but there is not a universal scheme in place.
The Stand Up to Cancer project, which has collected £113m over the past decade, is financing multiple clinical trials encompassing 13,000 patients.
His Majesty, in a address for attendees at a reception for support groups in the spring, had referred to understanding the "intimidating and at times scary experience" for patients and their loved ones.
But he said his personal journey of coping with cancer had shown him that "periods of great challenge of illness can be illuminated by the kindness of others," as he praised those who supported cancer patients.
The Palace has not disclosed the nature of cancer the King has, or the therapies he has undergone. The King's cancer was identified following he had received a routine operation.
