Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar and after recent discussion regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have that deficit and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing more than four pass rushers but they could position two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has excelled big while recent RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in positive down and distances.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass all over, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he is highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the defence to stay on the field for longer, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can really build something up how he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton owns a championship and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they good enough to face a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think Denver are elite. They're working above average, which is a solid position to hold the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, this team are the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
