Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, however will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
