Devoted followers of the actress are demanding that a person who breached a fence and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or deported from Singapore.
A viral footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past photographers and charging at Grande while the cast walked down a promenade accompanied by onlookers.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "released after being arrested", though official papers showed that he was set to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney performance in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last winter.
"There needs to be action applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user questioned.
Several fans criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented a further comment on Instagram.
Some attendees also faulted event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded social media platforms to block Mr Wen's videos.
In videos circulating online, Grande looked startled when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.
Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.
Many of attendees had congregated in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began.
The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the sequel of a two-film version of the popular Broadway and West End show Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected friendship between two very different characters.
The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.
They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and received 10 award recognitions, securing two for excellent wardrobe and production design.
