The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at their internal studio, which is currently working on the upcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.
The new appointee takes on the leadership position at the development studio following the departure of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's lackluster early showing last fall.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure informed employees about this strategic move through an internal memo, which stressed that early feedback sessions had indicated the need for a clearer vision.
The president noted that the developers is now refining the project with a refreshed approach, aiming to address community desires.
This announcement follows a comparable action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired an industry veteran from the Diablo team to assist with the BioShock development group.

The belief in Project ETHOS increases every day. To further the outstanding advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to introduce Ben Brinkman as the new Lead of 31st Union. Following a period of conversations, he officially joins us on the specified date.
His leadership and background in the competitive gaming space is extensive, having spent the recent years developing and leading some of the most popular series in gaming, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and most recently, the battle royale hit.
